Accessible washbasin and urinal requirements in separate sex sanitary accommodation

Where separate sex sanitary accommodation is accessible by wheelchair users, at least one washbasin must have a rim between 720-740 mm above floor level with two vertical grab rails, and where urinals are installed, at least one must have a rim at 380 mm above floor level with two vertical grab rails.

Where separate sex sanitary accommodation is accessible by wheelchair users – (a) at least one washbasin should have – (i) its rim not less than 720 mm and not more than 740 mm above floor level; and (ii) two vertical grab rails located as shown in Diagram 6.5(a), and (b) where urinals are installed, at least one urinal should have – (i) its rim at 380 mm above floor level; and (ii) two vertical grab rails located as shown in Diagram 6.5(b).
