Emergency assistance alarm pull cord requirements
Pull cords in accessible sanitary facilities must comply with earlier provisions and be reachable from water closets, shower seats, or baths as applicable.
An emergency assistance alarm activating pull cord should – (a) comply with the provisions of paragraph 5.46; (b) where it is within unisex accessible sanitary accommodation, be reachable from the water closet and the floor of the transfer space adjacent to the water closet; (c) where it is within a wheelchair accessible shower facility, be reachable from the shower seat and the transfer space adjacent to the shower seat; and (d) where it is within a wheelchair accessible bath facility, be reachable from the bath and the transfer space adjacent to the bath.
