Refreshment facilities - general accessibility

Refreshment facilities such as restaurants and bars must be designed for accessibility by all people, with all floor areas accessible regardless of level. Bars and counters should be at heights suitable for wheelchair users.

Refreshment facilities, such as restaurants and bars, should be designed so that they can be accessed and used by all people. All floor areas in a refreshment facility, even when located at different levels, should be accessible, see paragraph 4.3. Bars and counters (or sections of them) should be at a level suitable for wheelchair users. However, consideration should be given to the specific use of the bar or counter and the interaction of the users with it.
