Electricity network connection requirements
Planning permission does not guarantee electricity network connection; applicants should liaise with Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) early in the development process to confirm viability.
Some proposals for renewable energy development may require Electricity Network connection. Planning permission does not guarantee connection, which falls within the remit of Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE). The Council recommends that applicants liaise with NIE at an early stage in the development of their proposals to ensure viability.
