Low surface temperature oil-fired appliances exemption from shielding

Oil-fired appliances independently certified to have a surface temperature not exceeding 100°C during normal operation do not require shielding, and such certification must be prominently displayed.

An appliance independently certified as having a surface temperature, during normal operation of not greater than 100ºC (as shown using an appropriate test procedure such as in OFTEC Standards A100, A101 or A102) should not require shielding. Such certification should be prominently displayed on the appliance.
