Non-CE marked appliances - flue height installation
Older non-CE marked appliances without manufacturer instructions must be installed according to BS 5871 Part 3 for decorative fuel effect fires, or BS 5440 Part 1 for other appliance types.
Where an older appliance that is not CE marked is to be used and it has no manufacturer's installation instructions it should be installed in accordance with – (a) the recommendations in BS 5871: Part 3 for decorative fuel effect (DFE) fires; or (b) the recommended calculation procedures in BS 5440: Part 1 for appliances other than decorative fuel effect fires.
