Flue pipe joint installation

Spigot and socket joints must be fitted with the socket facing upwards to contain moisture and condensates, and joints must be made gas-tight using proprietary jointing accessories or non-combustible rope or fire cement.

A flue pipe with spigot and socket joints should be fitted with the socket facing upwards to contain moisture and other condensates in the flue. Joints should be made gas-tight by the use of proprietary jointing accessories or, where appropriate, by packing joints with non-combustible rope or fire cement.
