Renewable and Sustainable Energy and Climate Change
The LDP promotes renewable and sustainable energy generation to address climate change, encourages development in areas not impacted by flood risk, and supports waste prevention, reuse, recycling and recovery to reduce landfill dependence.
The promotion of heat and power generation from renewable and sustainable sources will help to address the effects of climate change and encourage adaptation to a low carbon economy. The LDP can also help to stimulate discussion on ways to address the impact of climate change by promoting new development in areas not impacted upon by flood risk and encouraging the prevention, reuse, recycling and recovery of waste which in turn will also help to reduce dependence on landfill sites.
