Carbon monoxide exposure limits

Sets maximum exposure levels for carbon monoxide with different averaging times ranging from 15 minutes to 8 hours.

exposure to the following levels of carbon monoxide should not be exceeded – (i) 100 mg/m3 (90 ppm) – 15 minute averaging time (WHO, 2000); (ii) 60 mg/m3 (50 ppm) – 30 minute averaging time (WHO, 2000); (iii) 30 mg/m3 (25 ppm) – 1 hour averaging time (WHO, 2000); or (iv) 10 mg/m3 (10 ppm) – 8 hours averaging time (Department of the Environment, 1994a).
