Minerals Development in Strategic Landscape Policy Areas

Minerals development in Strategic Landscape Policy Areas is generally presumed against unless regional need can be demonstrated to outweigh the site's importance and appropriate restoration or mitigation measures are included.

The Council will also operate a presumption against minerals development in Strategic Landscape Policy Areas, unless it can be demonstrated, that there is a regional need for the proposed mineral that outweighs the importance of the site and that appropriate restoration/mitigation measures accompany the proposal.
