Ventilation Performance - Meeting Regulation 65

A ventilation system must be capable of limiting moisture accumulation that could lead to mould growth and controlling pollutants originating within the building that would be a hazard to occupant health. This is achieved by replacing stale indoor air with fresh outside air.

It is the view of the Department that the requirements of regulation 65 will be met where a ventilation system is provided that, under normal conditions, is capable of limiting, the accumulation of moisture which could lead to mould growth, and the accumulation of pollutants originating within a building which would otherwise become a hazard to the health of the people in the building. This is achieved by replacing "stale" indoor air from a building with "fresh" outside air.
