Vehicle barriers
Buildings allowing vehicle access to floors, roofs, or circulation ramps must provide guarding at edges above adjacent levels. Guarding must not present hazards and must comply with BS 6180.
In a building where vehicles have access to a floor, roof or circulation ramp, guarding should be provided to any edge of such area that is above the level of any adjacent floor, ground or route for vehicles. Such guarding should – (a) not present a hazard e.g. by containing projections on the impact face of the barrier; and (b) be designed and constructed in accordance with BS 6180.
