Length and gradient of ramps in common areas of dwelling blocks

Ramps within common areas of apartment buildings must not exceed specified lengths depending on their gradient, with steeper ramps requiring shorter lengths.

A ramp should be not more than – (a) 10 m in length where the gradient of the ramp does not exceed 1 in 15; or (b) 5 m in length where the gradient of the ramp does not exceed 1 in 12.
