Treatment of penetrations through separating elements
Floor and wall penetrations such as ducts or pipes passing through sound-separating elements must be treated to prevent reduction in sound insulation performance; detailed guidance is provided in paragraphs 4.44 to 4.49 and Diagram 4.9.
Floor or wall penetrations, such as ducts or pipes, passing through separating elements in conversions can reduce the level of sound insulation. Guidance on the treatment of floor penetrations is given in paragraphs 4.44 to 4.49 and Diagram 4.9.
