Wall type 3.3 - Cavity masonry core with independent panels
Specifies construction requirements for sound-insulating walls with a cavity masonry core (brickwork or blockwork) with a 50 mm cavity and independent panels on both sides. The core can be any mass per unit area provided the cavity width and panel construction are met.
Cavity masonry core (brickwork or blockwork), 50 mm cavity, independent panels on both room faces (see Diagram 2.30) – the core can be of any mass per unit area; minimum cavity width of 50 mm; minimum core width is determined by structural requirements; independent panels on both room faces.
