Tree Protection in Conservation Areas

Trees within Conservation Areas are automatically protected as if subject to a Tree Preservation Order. Anyone proposing work on trees in a Conservation Area must give the Council 6 weeks' notice, and the Council may issue a Tree Preservation Order if the proposed works should not proceed.

Trees can also make an important contribution to the character and appearance of Conservation Areas. Consequently within Conservation Areas, trees are automatically protected as if a Tree Preservation Order is in place. Anyone proposing to carry out work on trees in a Conservation Area must serve the Council 6 weeks notice of the intended works. If the Council considers the proposed works should not be carried out, a Tree Preservation Order can be made to protect the trees.
