Timing and Condition of Sound Testing
Tests should be conducted once dwellings are essentially complete except for decoration, and impact sound insulation tests must be done without soft floor finishes like carpet or foam backed vinyl.
Tests should be carried out once the dwellings or rooms for residential purposes either side of a separating element are essentially complete, except for decoration. Impact sound insulation tests should be carried out without a soft floor finish such as carpet or foam backed vinyl on the floor. For exceptions and further information on floor coverings and testing (see Appendix B: paragraphs B2.13 and B2.14).
