Qualifications for testing personnel

Sound insulation testing should be carried out by a person who is registered to test the specific class of building concerned. Sound insulation testing is to be carried out by a test body with appropriate third party accreditation. Test bodies conducting testing should preferably have UKAS accreditation (or a European equivalent) for field measurements. The Department also regards members of the Association of Noise Consultants Registration Scheme as suitably qualified to carry out pre-completion testing.
