Acoustic conditions in schools

Regulation 52 requirements for school buildings are met where reasonable provisions provide acoustic conditions and adequate resistance to airborne, impact and flanking sound appropriate to the room or space's intended use.

It is the view of the Department that the requirements of regulation 52 will be met in each room or space in a school building where reasonable provisions are made to provide acoustic conditions and adequate resistance to the passage of airborne, impact and flanking sound appropriate to the intended use of the room or space in the school.
