Sprinkler systems not required when altering existing buildings without them

When alterations or extensions are made to existing buildings that do not have automatic sprinkler systems, introducing a sprinkler system to new or existing areas is not required.

Where an existing building is not curently provided with an automatic sprinkler system and an alteration and/or extension is undertaken, then the introduction of a sprinkler system to the new or existing areas of the building is not required.
