Rivers as environmental assets and flood risk considerations

Rivers in the Borough are important environmental resources but also present flood risk. The LDP policies must address flood risk matters, particularly given increasing flooding incidents due to climate change.

The rivers that run through our Borough are important environmental assets and resources, but they are also a source of flood risk. With increasing incidents of flooding occurring due to the effects of ongoing climate change it is essential that the policies of the LDP address flood risk matters.
