BR 187: 1991 provides the calculation method for thermal radiation intensity and detailed explanations of Methods 3 and 4 for determining building separation.
Building Research Establishment Report – External fire spread: building separation and boundary distances (BR 187: 1991) gives the method by which the thermal radiation intensity should be calculated for paragraph 5.13. It also gives detailed explanations, with worked examples, of Method 3 (paragraph 5.18) and Method 4 (paragraph 5.19).
