Definition of wall surface for fire classification
Clarifies what components are excluded from wall surface area calculations for fire safety purposes, including doors, windows, and decorative trim.
a wall should not include –
(i) doors and door frames;
(ii) window frames and frames in which glazing is fitted;
(iii) architraves, cover moulds, picture rails, skirtings and similar narrow members; and
(iv) fire surrounds, mantleshelves and fitted furniture;
