Escape Stairway Capacity for Simultaneous Evacuation - Buildings Not More Than 10 Storeys
For buildings of 10 storeys or fewer and basements using simultaneous evacuation, the capacity of escape stairways must be determined using Table 2.6 based on the appropriate stair width.
Where simultaneous evacuation is to be used the capacity of an escape stairway should be either –
(i) in a building of not more than 10 storeys and for basements – that given for the appropriate width of escape stairs in Table 2.6
