Fire detection in extensions and alterations to flats
When new habitable rooms or kitchens are added to flats, automatic fire detection must be installed in the new rooms and circulation spaces leading to the flat entrance.
Where any new habitable room or kitchen is provided, an automatic fire detection and fire alarm system in accordance with paragraph 2.23 or 2.24 should be installed within the new habitable room or kitchen; the circulation spaces from the new room to the flat entrance door; and to any habitable room or kitchen opening on to the circulation spaces leading from the new room to the flat entrance door.
