Extensions and alterations with new habitable rooms or kitchens

Where new habitable rooms or kitchens are added, automatic fire detection and fire alarm systems must be installed in the new room, circulation spaces to the final exit, and any habitable room or kitchen opening onto those circulation spaces.

Where any new habitable room or kitchen is provided, an automatic fire detection and fire alarm system in accordance with paragraph 2.23 or 2.24 should be installed within the new habitable room or kitchen; the circulation spaces from the new room to the final exit; and to any habitable room or kitchen opening on to the circulation spaces leading from the new room to the final exit.
