Technical Booklet E Fire Safety·Page 31·1.5

Fire Safety in Protected Buildings

Where Part E applies to protected buildings, variations from this booklet's provisions may be appropriate if strict adherence would be unduly restrictive. A range of fire safety features should be assessed against hazards and risks specific to each case.

Some variation of the provisions set out in this booklet may be appropriate where Part E applies to protected buildings, where adherence to the guidance in this booklet might prove to be unduly restrictive. In such cases it would be appropriate to take into account a range of fire safety features, some of which are contained in this booklet and some of which are not addressed in any detail and to set these against an assessment of the hazards and risks peculiar to the particular case.
