Construction (Design and Management) Regulations - Scope and Fire Safety in Construction
The CDM Regulations impose requirements affecting building design including coordination and communication between parties. Technical Booklet E addresses fire safety for the completed building, not fire risk during construction work, which is covered separately under CDM Regulations.
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 2016 impose requirements which affect building design. These include, amongst other things, the need for co-ordination, co-operation and communication between all parties in the construction process.
The purpose of this Technical Booklet is to provide guidance on the fire safety requirements for the completed building. It does not address the risk of fire during the construction work which is covered by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 2016.
