Floor joists - maximum clear span and loading
Tables 4B.5 and 4B.6 specify maximum clear spans for timber floor joists in strength classes C16 and C24 supporting dead loads and a maximum imposed floor loading of 1.5 kN/m². Partition loads are not included in these tables.
Tables 4B.5 and 4B.6 give the maximum clear span for floor joists using timber strength class C16 and C24 that will support the dead loads specified and a maximum imposed floor loading of 1.5 kN/m2. Partition loads are not allowed for in Tables 4B.5 and 4B.6.
