Regulation 30 in Part D - Stability Performance

The Department's view on meeting regulation 30 is that building structures must be designed and constructed to ensure the safety of people in or about the building, considering ground nature, loads imposed by and on the building, and must not impair the stability of other buildings.

It is the view of the Department that the requirements of regulation 30 in Part D will be met when the structure of a building is designed and constructed — (a) so as to ensure the safety of those people who are in or about the building, having due regard to the nature of the ground, the loads imposed by the building and the loads imposed on the building; and (b) so as not to impair the stability of any part of any other building.
