Ventilation behind timber-supported cladding

Where cladding is supported by timber or applied to timber framed buildings, a ventilated space must be provided between the cladding and building to allow rapid drying of penetrating water.

Where cladding is supported by timber components or is on the façade of a timber framed building, the space between the cladding and the building should be ventilated to ensure rapid drying of any water that penetrates the cladding.
