Assessment of fill and made ground

Where sites contain fill or made ground, their compressibility and potential for collapse when wetted must be assessed, with appropriate remedial measures taken to prevent damaging differential settlement. Guidance is available in BRE Digest 427 and BRE Report BR 424.
