Short-lived materials and accessibility for inspection

Short-lived materials that are not readily accessible for inspection, maintenance or replacement and whose failure could seriously affect health or safety are unlikely to meet Building Regulations requirements.

Where a shortlived material is not readily accessible for inspection and maintenance or replacement and the consequences of failure are likely to be serious with regard to health or safety, it is unlikely that the material will meet the requirements of the Building Regulations.
