Extensions and alterations for persons with disabilities

The Council will give sympathetic consideration to proposals where an extension or alteration is required for a person with a disability or whose mobility is otherwise impaired. If imaginative and innovative design approaches are fully explored, it is generally possible to provide a satisfactory solution in line with the policy. The specific needs of a person with a disability are however an important material consideration and exceptionally the policy criteria may be relaxed to meet these needs.
