Access to protected routes in rural areas

Farm dwellings and developments serving established commercial or industrial enterprises may use existing vehicular access onto protected routes where access cannot reasonably be obtained from adjacent minor roads. Other countryside developments meeting relevant criteria may also use existing access points under these constraints.

Approval may be justified for other developments which would meet the criteria for development in the countryside, and where access cannot reasonably obtained from an adjacent minor road, proposals will be required to make use of an existing vehicular access onto the protected route.
