Sites should be allocated based on sustainably and objectively assessed needs for retail and economic development, with regular monitoring and review to maintain an up-to-date evidence base.
The requirement to allocate sites should be considered on the basis of fulfilling sustainably and objectively assessed needs for retail/economic development during the plan period. It will also be important to regularly monitor and review retail and town centre development and trends. This will ensure the maintenance of an up to date and robust evidence base.
