Protection of tourism assets from adverse development

Planning permission should not be granted for development that would significantly compromise the tourism value of designated tourism assets such as heritage sites, beaches, conservation areas, and areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Planning permission should not be granted for development that would, in itself or in combination with existing and approved development in the locality, have an adverse impact on a tourism asset, such as to significantly compromise its tourism value.
