Decommissioning and site restoration requirements
Applicants must provide decommissioning and site restoration proposals, and planning authorities must use conditions or legal agreements to ensure proper decommissioning and restoration at the end of a development's design life.
Applicants will be required to provide details on future decommissioning, including proposals for site restoration. Planning authorities must consider and make use of suitable planning conditions (or a legal agreement, where appropriate) to ensure the decommissioning of developments and site restoration when they reach the end of their design life, taking into account any proposed after use of the site.
