Regional Strategic Policy on Open Space
Councils must prepare an Open Space Strategy (OSS) that reflects SPPS aims, objectives and policy approach, tailored to the specific circumstances of the plan area, which must be taken into account in plan-making and determination of planning applications.
The following strategic policy must be taken into account in the preparation of local development plans (LDPs) and in the determination of planning applications. In plan-making councils should bring forward an Open Space Strategy (OSS) that must reflect the aim, objectives and policy approach of the SPPS, tailored to the specific circumstances of the plan area.
