Implementation - Key Site Requirements and Green/Blue Infrastructure
Local Development Plans should protect natural heritage features through key site requirements when zoning development sites, and identify green and blue infrastructure to enhance open space and habitat connections around settlements.
LDPs should seek to protect and integrate certain features of the natural heritage when zoning sites for development through 'key site requirements'. In addition LDPs should seek to identify and promote green and blue infrastructure46 where this will add value to the provision, enhancement and connection of open space and habitats in and around settlements.
