Site restoration requirements for mineral extraction
Planning applications for mineral extraction must provide detailed evidence of satisfactory site restoration following completion of operations, including appropriate re-use. Such restoration provisions must be secured through conditions attached to the planning permission.
In line with the objective to secure the sustainable restoration, including the appropriate re-use of mineral sites, planning applications should be required to provide adequate details demonstrating the satisfactory restoration of sites subsequent to the completion of operations. Such provisions must be underpinned by appropriate conditions attached to any grant of planning permission.
