Flood Risk Considerations in LDP Preparation
LDPs must account for flood risks over the plan period and beyond when making decisions about land zoning, open space designation, settlement limits, and should promote sustainable drainage solutions as key site requirements.
LDPs must take account of the potential risks from flooding over the plan period and beyond as this is likely to influence decisions on such matters as the zoning of land for development or the designation of land for open space use. Flood risk may also be a consideration in the definition of settlement limits and in decisions concerning the designation of new settlements. LDPs should also promote sustainable drainage within the plan area, for example by requiring such solutions, where appropriate to individual zonings, as a key site requirement.
