Preclusion of certain development types in reservoir flood inundation areas

Development is precluded where fast flowing or deep inundation is likely, and there is a presumption against vulnerable group facilities, essential infrastructure, and hazardous substance storage in the flood inundation area.

Development will be precluded where the FRA indicates a likelihood of fast flowing and/or deep inundation. There will also be a presumption against certain types of development in the flood inundation area including bespoke development for vulnerable groups, essential infrastructure (such as emergency services, transport or utilities) and also development for the storage of hazardous substances likely to cause pollution in a flood event.
