New development in controlled reservoir flood inundation areas
New development within a controlled reservoir's flood inundation area can only be permitted where a suitably qualified engineer provides assurance that the reservoir's condition, management and maintenance regime ensures reservoir safety, supported by DfI Rivers as the responsible body.
New development within the flood inundation area of a controlled reservoir can only be justified where the condition, management and maintenance regime of the reservoir are appropriate to provide assurance regarding reservoir safety. Accordingly, planning permission for new development should only be granted to such assurance, provided by a suitably qualified engineer and supported by DfI Rivers, as the responsible body for the management of reservoir flood risk.
