Implementation through Development Management

The potential for loss or damage to archaeological sites and built heritage is a material consideration in planning applications, with the development management system as the primary mechanism for implementing regional strategic policy, supported by Local Development Plans.

The potential for loss or damage to archaeological sites and the built heritage as a result of unsympathetic development is a material consideration in the determination of planning applications and the outworking of this through the development management system will be the primary mechanism for the implementation of the regional strategic policy. However, an essential prerequisite for this, particularly in the context of a plan-led system, will be the LDP.
