Schemes of Delegation

Councils must produce schemes of officer delegation describing classes and types of development suitable for delegation to appointed officials. This enables speedier decisions on straightforward planning applications and can be tailored to local circumstances.

Councils will produce a scheme of officer delegation which will build on current good practice and arrangements for streamlining consultation. Schemes of delegation will describe the classes and types of development which would be suitable for delegation to an appointed official of the council. They will be suitable for decisions on straightforward planning applications, enabling speedier decisions and can be tailored to suit local circumstances.
