Pre-application discussions facilitate early engagement on design matters and produce better outcomes. Design review arrangements, including potential support from the Ministerial Advisory Group, can help achieve high design standards particularly for major projects.
Pre-Application Discussions provide an opportunity for early consideration and engagement on design considerations and will generally produce better outcomes. In addition, the establishment of design review arrangements can also prove useful in supporting high standards of design in new development, particularly for major projects. The Ministerial Advisory Group for Architecture and the Built Environment in Northern Ireland can offer a design review resource for councils in relation to significant projects.
