Integration of Ecosystem Services in Planning and Decision-Making
When appropriate, the condition of ecosystems and provision of services should be integrated into plan-making and decision-taking processes, supported by sustainability appraisal requirements for Local Development Plans.
Where appropriate, identifying the condition of ecosystems, the provision of services and their relationship to human well-being should be integrated into plan-making and decision-taking processes. The requirement to subject LDPs to a sustainability appraisal (incorporating the requirements of the SEA Directive) will assist in this process.
