Designation of Open Space as Landscape Wedges and Local Landscape Policy Areas
Larger existing open spaces within or adjoining settlements may be designated as landscape wedges where they perform a strategic function, and smaller spaces may be designated as Local Landscape Policy Areas. Local policies for these designations are included in development plans.
Areas of existing open space within or adjoining settlements may also be designated as landscape wedges, in particular those larger areas which perform a strategic function (see Annex A). In addition, some smaller open spaces may merit designation as a Local Landscape Policy Area. Local policies will be included in the development plan for these designations.
