Permeable Paving Specifications and Standards
Permeable paving must be constructed to suitable specifications, with reference to BS 7533 Part 3 and BS 7533 Part 13 for design and installation. Additional guidance is available from CIRIA and paving industry resources.
As permeable paving should be constructed to suitable specifications, the Department would draw attention to the requirements of BS7533 Part 3 and BS 7533 Part 13 in terms of the design and installation of permeable pavements. Further best practice, guidance and advice to assist developers and their professional advisors when proposing permeable and porous surface treatments is available from www.ciria.com/suds/ and www.paving.org.uk/.
